A month ago, a Great Horned owl named GiGi was taken to Mississippi’s Wild at Heart Rescue after suffering head injury. The experts suspected she had been hit by an auto, which results temporary unconsciousness.
Gigi was not just filled with parasites, she was found to have aspergillosis, which is like pneumonia in people. Missy Dubuisson, the originator and chief of the Rescue, told The Dodo:
“This bird was one of the most critical we have ever taken care of, the fact that this bird has lived is beyond comprehension.”
On the off chance that it hadn’t been for Douglas Pojeky, president of the office, Gigi may not received extensive care. It appears the owl was very much aware of this, as she immediately clung to Pojeky, who is alluded to as the “feathered creatures of prey whisperer” by rehabilitators in the territory.
“It literally brings tears to my eyes to watch him interact with these birds. They absolutely know him and trust him. It’s the trust that you see in her face.”
